What: The Green Mill, at the site of the present NGV, used to be one of Melbourne's most popular dance halls with Charleston music in the 1920s. It had a Dutch windmill in front and hostesses wearing Dutch costumes. In memory of the Green Mill the 12-member “Dandenong Ranges Hot Jazz Orchestra” will play for us after our lunch. The lunch will be the popular Rijsttafel. Wear a roaring twenties outfit, if you wish, and dance or just listen to the music. Prize for the best outfit. For info on the Green Mill check here.
